    Who can join Youth Red Cross?

All students of College, University, Technical and Engineering institutions are the members of Youth Red Cross.  All arts & science colleges, Engineering, Medical and Paramedical institutions, Agricultural and Law Colleges are to ensure the much needed increase in the enrollment of Youth Red Cross volunteers and encourage the momentum for the establishment of YRC.

    Why should you join the Red Cross Movement through your college, university/institution?

College/Universities are the best places for youths to test their capabilities and volunteerism is a vital part of education. You will get opportunities for developing leadership, organisational skills during meeting with new people.

    When and where can I get involved?

 Ask your counsellor/Incharge, Youth Red Cross (teachers/lecturers) of your college/institution/university and contact District Red Branch /State Red Cross Branch if you do not have a Youth Red Cross wing in your  college/institution/university. You can also contact your local District Red Cross branch at any time for more information. You can also download the guidelines on Youth Red Cross.

6. INTER STATE (National Level) Youth Red Cross Training Camp

    Every year Inter State Youth Red Cross Training Camp for Boys is organized. Two teams (12 participants) consisting of 5 Boys under the supervision of one  Counsellor (teacher) in each team are invited through the concerned State/U.T. Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.
    Names of the participants are recommended by their relevant University/Institution/College and comes through the State/U.T. Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.
    Nominal camp registration fee per participant including Counsellor is charged.
    Camp Registration fee and T.A./D.A. is paid by the College/Institution/University concern.

Objective of Camp :- To provide the youths and their counsellors an opportunity to inculcate the spirit of selfless service, to understand the objective of Red Cross & Youth Red Cross amongst the students. Recreational activities are an extra attraction.

7. State Level Youth Red Cross Training Camps:-

A :- State Level Youth Red Cross Training CamFOR BOYS:-

    Every year State Level Youth Red Cross Training Camp for Boys is organised  for the students of Colleges and Universities of Haryana.

    Five students along with one Counsellor are invited from two Colleges of each district of Haryana through their respective Universities as well as from the University Teaching Departments in the camp.

    Camp Registration fee and T.A./D.A. is paid by the College/Institution/University concern from the Youth Red Cross fund, remains with them.

    Free boarding and lodging facilities is provided to the participants.

    Various Competitions are organised during the camp.

 

B :- State Level Youth Red Cross Training Camp FOR GIRLS :–

    Every year State Level Youth Red Cross Training Camp for Girls  is organised   for the students of Colleges and Universities of Haryana.

    Five students along with one Counsellor are invited from two Colleges of each district of Haryana through their respective Universities as well as from the University Teaching Departments in the camp.

    Camp Registration fee and T.A./D.A. is paid by the College/Institution/University concern from the Youth Red Cross fund, remains with them.

    Free boarding and lodging facilities is provided to the participants

    Various Competitions are organised during the camp.

    Topics During Camps:

T.B., Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis ‘B’ & ‘C’, Voluntary Blood Donation, Conservation of Natural Resources, Global Warming,   National Integration, Global Warming,  Drug De-addiction, Female Foeticide, social issue, Respect to Sr. citizen,  Hygiene, Safe Drinking Water, Save Girl Child, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Disaster Management, Donation of Human Organs i.e. Eye & Kidney and so on.

C :- District Level Youth Red Cross Training Camps – 5 –Days District District Level Youth Red Cross training camp is organized by the District Red Cross Branches. – Rs. 50,000/- is allocated to each District Red Cross Branch by Indian Red Cross Society, Haryana State Branch to organize 5 –Days District Level Youth Red Cross Training Camp (Day Camp). – Red Cross Caps, Scarves, Vogals of Youth Red Cross and File Folders are provided by this office for 50 to 60 participants for each camp upto the maximum limit of Rs. 5,000/- in addition to Rs. 50,000/-. – Five students (male or female) alongwith one Counsellor (Incharge of Youth Red Cross) is invited from each college of the District by rotation. – Camp Registration fee is exempted. – District Red Cross Branch will submit expenditure statement duly approved and signed by the Secretary, District Red Cross Branch and Deputy Commissioner-cum-President, District Red Cross Branch. The statement will be head wise as per budget provision and expenditure made against the budget provision – District Branch has to submit Utilization Certificate duly signed by the Chartered Accountant alongwith unspent amount (if any) alongwith Camp Report within 15 days on completion of the camp. – T.A. to the participants is given on actual bus/train fare by the concerned College/Institution/University.
